City Island, ' daimond in the rough' .

If one is sailing in from the Atlantic Ocean, and should choose to come into New York Harbor via the Long Island sound, At the apex of Long Island and the Cennecticut shore, just before the Throggs Neck Bridge, lies an island sourounded by fleets of sailboats, moured amongst the anchorages provided by the various yacht clubs and Marinas ashore. Aptly called 'City Island' for its proximity to the Bronx, it is actually situated in the outer limits of New York City.
